Core Target Areas

Having studied and analysed the country context and pertinent problems, below objectives set as a prioritised strategy. Considering the present county context, achievements of FNCN in past 10 years and in the following five years the FNCN committed to pursue the following nine strategic priority sectors and will endeavor to mobilize resources to accomplish these. The FNCN’s comprehensive advocacy with spiritual formation will be a cross cutting theme, interwoven in all its activities.

1 . Advocacy

Christian in Nepal have been discriminated almost like a second class citizen in view of equity for exercising the right such as barred from sharing the love of God to other fellow citizens and also denied burial ground and encountering day by day for many such harassment as such they must be advocated the right to restore their fundamental human rights. So FNCN advocates on behalf of, with and for Christian communities’ rights of equality and equity in all aspects of life.

Objective

FNCN prepared and equipped advocacy facilitators in every provincial state who will be conducted events for basic human rights and citizens’ rights to overcome injustices and oppressions.

Strategies

There will be conducted training and seminars on human rights issues with biblical view among pastors and leaders including chosen facilitator. a. Training of facilitators and trainers on fundamental rights issues b. Pastors and leaders aware and trained to align Sermons and teachings with human rights and equity’s issues

2 . Resilient Livelihood

So FNCN advocates on behalf of, with and for Christian communities’ rights of equality and equity in all aspects of life.

Objective

Initiate livelihood intervention for those the poorest of the poorer segment of community and those who lost houses and land in disaster for resilient livelihood intervention with skill and shared resources.

Strategies

Coordinate among the Churches, Christian organizations, stakeholders, GOs NGOs, supporting with expertise for Livelihood intervention.

3 . Disaster/ Relief (Humanitarian Emergency Affair)

So FNCN advocates on behalf of, with and for Christian communities’ rights of equality and equity in all aspects of life.

Objective

FNCN will be reached to the affected community in the eminent face of disasters and suffering as per FNCN call and Aspiration mandate for relief and rescue operation.

Strategies

Mobilize staff, Committee members, Churches, partners, donors and likeminded stakeholders to visit disaster areas, assess need and operate rescue and emergency supply work as soonest possible.

# Meetings held with key national church/para church leaders, local donors and FNCH Board and GA members for seeking advises and approval to operate HEA relief # Relief event among church/ Para-church leaders discussing their role in civil society and their Social responsibilities

4 . Interfaith

Maintain inter religious harmony for tolerance and avert communal conflict

Strategies

Organize interreligious interaction to promote religious tolerance and mitigate communal conflicts

5 . Public Service

Objective

To provide social service among Christian community living Kathmandu valley at critical time such as burial and accident

Strategies

a. Identify need of ambulance and dead body carrying service among Christian community b. Coordinate with pastors and leaders and create a fund to buy ambulance for both purposes

Significant Impacts of FNCN

  • Nepalese Christians community found a trust worthy platform to rely on and consult and counsel whenever needed.
  • Started to feel secure to practice as active citizens of Nepal.
  • Improve on status of liberty, religious freedom, and freedom of speech and restored dignity.
  • New constitution of Nepal declared Nepal as a secular republic state.
  • Christmas holiday granted as government public holiday in Nepal.
  • Christians who were convicted on false charges of preaching were acquitted and proved innocents.
  • Christians are freely practicing religious liberty without hindrances.
  • Political and social apathy towards Christians are gradually improving.
